What is more powerful, an AMD Athlon 4000+(or whichever CPU is top of the line for them) or a Intel Pentium 4 3.8 GHz(or whatever CPU is top of the line for them)
 
Depends on what you are doing. If you are gaming most likely the AMD. If media, or benchmarks, I am pretty sure the Intel will win. I know the AMD will win in gaming though.

Correction, you were being a fanboy (i.e., response without any justification whatsoever) :P (and at a technical level you were probably incorrect as many Intel procs punch well past the 140W mark .... meanwhile AMDs been pushin out dinky 115W units :P)
 
I meant that the FX series is the most powerful AMD line, and the P4 6XX is the most power ful intel line, and I also said that the 6XX line was good

And I answered that by saying that the FX series is the most powerful AMD line, and the 6xx series (or EE) is the most powerful Intel line

the P4 5xx series have 1MB Cache, and P4 6xx have 2MB Cache and it also 64Bit, and other stuff i 4got

Indeed but not everyone is looking for a gaming computer (and nobody will notice the difference between say 100fps and 120fps)

Uh ... twice the L2 cache whilst not as critical to AMD as Intel, is not "nothin much [different]"
