Whats more powerful

Alllllllriiiight it's random claims with no reason time!:D

Intel!
No! Intel Sucks AMD!
They both suck, Cyrix all the way!
Bah! Motorola!

Why do you bother? :P If you want to say AMD is better ok fine, go for it, but at least give some reasons for it.

Indeed but not everyone is looking for a gaming computer (and nobody will notice the difference between say 100fps and 120fps)

I don't know how long I've been saying that and how long it's been ignored but at least one other person agree's with me. I'm using a 2.6 S478 with a radeon 9800 Pro and I just get 100FPS (or lower) on almost all games I play. If i wanted to buy a whole new mobo, cpu, and GFX for roughly 600-1000$ just to gain 20-50Fps (which would go un-noticed) I would have done so a long time ago. An old processor (1-2years) will preform just as good as a new processor, Intel or AMD wise. It's true that intel will score lower in games and it's also true that AMD will score lower in media based things such as graphical rendering and audio/video. But it's also true that the AMD will run hotter than the Intel of a comparable speed (so I think, not positive. Hotter to me has also always translated to less stability, again not really sure). So in the long run you can't really say one processor is better than the other, they all accel in their own fields, just like mac accel's in Audio/Visual and falls short in the gaming areas.

P.S. I also always thought that intel's were cheaper, not to sure anymore though.

For the Athlon XP vs P4 Northwood thats true but P4 Prescott vs Athlon64 it's generally the otherway around. AMD has generally been the cheaper brand (they defiently started off costing less but not so much anymore)

Ah ok, I told ya I wasn't too sure on the heat issue or the cost issue.

hey im back, and after doing some reading, I'm gonna have to say that the Athlon FX-55 is more powerful

What did you discover in the reading? What makes you think so? Please give some reasons please.
