One of the CDs that came with my laptop is the "application and driver recovery DVD" has this got the full operating system on? I need to do a reformat

Usually those called "recovery CD/DVD" offer 2 options 1 full format losing everything including the os, the other one is like a format only that goes back to the state when you bought it
