Ill pretend you know what you're talking about and what you meant to say was "plextor drives can be fast but burning fast results in low reliability"plextors are the fastest, and the best, but reliability is a joke
Um... where did i say that? Burning at 16x will most likely result in P1 errors so there's no way i would have reccomended 16x for "reliability-focused" burning.like praetor said, if you want a drive than can crank out FLAWLESS 16x burns in under 5 minutes on even 4x media, don't expect the drive to last longer than a year or so. worth every penny while it lasts, tho
1. Plextors and Liteons are not made by the same peoplePlextors and lite-ons (which i could swear are made by the same people. They even have the same features, and CALL them the same things) are both INCREDIBLY noisy drives!
Been there done that, was my first burner.Still used the caddies (anyone even remember those?) and cost me ~$500
Note that Sony (like recent Plextors, HPs, etc) doesnt make burners... and instea,d thy just rebag othersIM getting a sony from newegg for my desktop from the reviews it seams like a good one
You can but DVD drives are so cheap now....so can i replace the bands in there?? or possibly the motor if its weak?? i have an old cd-rom drive in my closet i can use for parts. anyone ever tried to do this?
