Keep an eye on your case temperature as well.
As far as keeping your CPU in good shape, I found this quote on the intel website:
"Intel believes in order to manage the rapidly increasing costs of dissipating higher processor power; the design
requirements for processor ambient temperature need to be 38°C or less. (Processor ambient temperature is sometimes
called Tinlet, Tambient.) That means the temperature rise above the processor should be limited to 3°C or less. Chassis
that do not maintain a 38°C or less processor ambient temperature are not likely to have cost-effective thermal solutions
in future platforms."
Although, you're more willing to give a little shelf life away due to heat if you're overclocking.
