Whats the best gaming CPU?

As a few of you know im about to do a new build using the Q6700. But I was wondering whats the best gaming CPU out there at the moment that isnt like a million dollars (lol meaning the QX9770 and the like)

Somewhere up to like the 600 or 700 dollar mark, as I might just save up a bit longer.
 
Q9450 seems to be the best bang for the buck CPU as of right now.


And from experience, this is what ill say about it

Most people will say probably a e8500 I guess.I am waiting for the price drops(was supposed to happen the 20th but I guess intel only mean the duo's)I think personally the Q9550 performance to cost after the drop.It is rumored to be $319 then,we will see I guess :confused:.I may just get the Q9650 since I will skip a few years and just squeeze a X48 MB for what its worth out of the 775 socket.People buying dual right now I guess plan to get Nehalem once it comes out(late this year or early next year)I cant see building now only to buy another Mb and cpu in 6 months so I will go quad.
