What's the best processor for my laptop?

I currently have a AMD A4-3300M Series processor, and FOXCONN CPU on my motherboard.
I bought a new Intel Core Quad processor, like the best processor you can by for gaming and it didn't fit right into the CPU.
I'm new at this and I'm stumped.
 
Your first issue is that the quad core intel is well an Intel and your current one is AMD. They do not share sockets and have not since y2k basically.

You will only be able to upgrade to another A series processor from AMD.
 
and for gaming it isn't the processor that will get you the best performance but the graphics card, and 99.999% chance you don't have a gpu compatible laptop, only a few upper end ones have swapable graphics cards.
 
Its an A series powered unit. The best he can do is whats on the CPU he gets. A 64** series I think, maybe 65** series. Not gunna game well unless he runs it down to like 800*600.
