What's the best way to dust out a rig?

I'm looking to pull apart and clean off my PC. The fans and vents have accumulated dust and whatnot. I was thinking of getting one of those canisters that shoots air out of a thin tube. Good idea or no? Anything better?

That's what I use. Just be sure that you get the dust off the components and out of the case. Other wise it will re settle on your components.

didn't you know, air is made for cleaning not breathing, you just wasted a ton of good cleaner right then while reading this, you jerk (even though you breathed it right back out:D)

I find a new paintbrush not used with paint before works quite well. After all your parts are out of the case, I find a vacuum cleaner with a small brush head works wonders, I really only use the paintbrush for the fans though. Not good to spin them up past max rpm with a vacuum, lowers their lifespan.

depending on the amount of dust careful use of a can of compressed air should work well, but if theres alot of dust i first use a hoover with the mini attachment

Yes. Dont think results will be good though. need some kind of blower. Office supply or radio shack or anyplace.

it does. just a little more than what i want. If its occasional just get static free air in a can. do not turn the can upside down. I has a oil base in it. hold it upright. you will get a few computers clean. I recently bought a datavac buster that works well. many stores sell the canned air and works. just got tired of spending the money because i blow off maybe 7 computers with my family once a year. Mine i do not keep the computer on the floor. many do.
