whats the catch?

Cheaper brand, cheaper chipset, combo board(eh, I just don't like those)

Are you sure the other doesn't support quad core? I don't know too much about the chipsets and all, but sometimes a simple bios update will allow it. Back when the Athlon X2's came out, not many boards specified they were supported at first, but basically all S939 boards support Athlon X2s
 
have no idea, due to hardware specifications on the gigabyte board it shud be capable, but apparantly the bios is very sparse and there are no overclocking features, so i have no idea :confused: also what do you mean by combo board?
 
Well I can't tell you too much about the boards, you just need to look for specs and benchmarks. I just know the Asrock uses a VIA chipset which isn't very popular today.

As for combo board, the Asrock uses AGP and PCI Express as well as DDR and DDR2 RAM.
