whats the deal with mail in rebates

starting to piss me off. first it saids missing info i need another receipt okay so i went to the store and get another copy and send it, which i had to wait 30min in line. then now i recieve a card saying is missing the purchase date! and i must return the card with the missing info by 9/26/04 and guess when did i get this card? 9/25/04 hmmm i wonder if i will ever make it. oh wait! maybe superman can help me. or maybe road runner!

I am in interested in peoples experiences with rebates as well. We dont have Rebates here in Australia, and some of those deals which involve rebates I have seen on American computer sites look a little too good to be true.

i do get some of them but never all of them, say if i had 5 rebates i never get all of them either some is missing or say the same stuff again, even though i swear i have all the info in there. either the ppl that work on the rebates dont know jack or half awake. they specifically said the info and reciept and upc will not be returned i mean if they do return it it would be easier than wait month only to send u a card telling u to mail extra info again.
