What's the difference between run and save when downloading software?

Run will just install the software so if you uninstall you will have to download it again, save will actually save the full exe file, so you can store it and reinstall the program if necessary by just double clicking the exe file

Just to add on to this - the file will still be saved and downloaded, but it will be saved to a temp folder and cleared after the browser closes.
