Whats the difference between socket 754 and 939

Also socket 754 has become their crappy processor socket because none of amds good processors come out on socket 754 anymore, all you can get is semprons and up to amd64 3700+ (i think). Finnally amd's dual core processors are going to be 939 pins.

Ouch! LOL I suppose I understand what you mean ;) although i feel that my pc is way far from having a "crappy processor".

Basicly ya though the diff. would be the support for duel channel memory which is on the newer.

Oh an 691175002 I was just having fun :P.

Not really, dual channel doesnt account for a massive surge in performance or anythig.... the on-die memory controller sees to that

If you want a nforce4 ultra I would conisder spending a extra $25 and getting the MSI one instead http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-484&depa=1

I personally just not a fan of ECS I have had bad luck with them.

edit: just notice the DFI lanparty nforce 4 ultra a bit cheaper then MSI and also a excelent choice.

The lanparty only $2 more then ECS and I think it a much better choise.

Maybe I just had really bad luck but I have yet to work on a ECS motherboard that have not given me problems.
I meant the pricing cuz DFI is by no means a budget brand whilst ECS is :) (hence the problems)

yeah for $2 it would not be very bright to go with the ECS. Truthfully I dont know why any one would buy the ECS unless they just did not know what they was doing.

well.... we've got 3 pc's here with all ECS motherboards, and we never had any problem with them. and these pc's are 3 years old, and used very much since then. So i dont c why a ECS mobo is a bad choice :o
