So I dont know much about Radeon cards or there equalness to GeForce..

I was just curious as to which Radeon card would be about equal to the 8800 or how to distinguish how good they are:confused:?.. if that makes sense.

Ok.

I just have the ancient 6600. In for an upgrade real bad. and if I want to upgrade that then I got to go for the bundle and get a new motherboard and cpu too.

Would an onboard 7150 be better than my 6600? atleast for the time being to get more money for video card.

Nooo! The 7150 would be MUCH worse then your current 6600.

there are on top of my head.

there's the HD3850 and the 2600XT from ATi.
the 7600GT and GS from Nvidia

a whole new build is better. ;)

if your cpu is passable i would upgrade the card, since 3850 is pretty good. otherwise definitely build from scratch.

Intel P4 2.8 Ghz
1gb Patriot DDR
GeForce 6600
320gb Maxtor IDE

not to sure on my motherboard.. and lost my cpuiz program..

You could upgrade the graphics to a 3850, and you could probably keep on gaming (on the light side) for a year or so.

If you plan to continue gaming though, upgrading the entire rig (and going with PCI 2) would be a much better choice.

I forgot to mention the motherboards socket 478 and AGP im pretty sure.. that kinda knocks out the 3850. correct?
