whats the difference?

Your only difference is that one is ECC and one is not. ECC stands for "error code correcting" (I THINK) and is usually more epensive than non-ECC registered RAM. It also is used mainly for servers, and your motherboard has to SPECIFICALLY say it can use registered ECC RAM.

Most motherboard designed for the home user or even advanced computer enthusiast do not accpt ECC registered RAM, what motherboard do you have? Their description of the product is somehwat contradictory, so i'd definely look at your mobo's requirements.

well i do not have a mother board now i have 1000 dollars and waiting to raise a little more then im going to buy a pc in the next 2 months. i was just ownderin about those different types, thx for the info.

You are 100% correct. ECC memory is more versatile and efficient than non-ECC and is primarily used in servers that operate under stressful conditions. With that said, the difference between ECC and non-ECC is negligable to a home user.
