Hi, i would like to know wat is the different drom dvd+/-R?
I want to know because i am about to burn video files and such.

I'm still not 100% sure of the difference. I think Plus is suppose to be better in some ways, but I've used both and I'm more partial to -'s. More drives are compatable with this type, though I have come across some that only will use +'s

One difference is that DVD+R uses Z-CAV to burn while DVD-R uses CLV. Between the two, CLV results in a stabler burn however the top speed is usually limited.

DVD-R is more generally compatible with videos and such although if u have a modern drive tis not a signifcant advantage

Well, since the DVD-Rewriters were out to the market, I always believed that the DVD-R is the best and the stable version from all what I read over the internet and from the manuals of the drives.

I think that the DVD+R is just a format they created to grab more money from our pockets, trying to make some things work only on DVD+R discs that do not work on DVD-R and vice versa so that you buy both all the time.

Exact difference, I know nothing except the change in writing and reading formats.

Thanks,

Nader
