what's the most stable voltage/amperage PSU?1!!!!

so right now I have a 30$ apevia 500w supply. and I just learned :)
that power supply voltage consistency is very important.
everyone is raving lunatically about antec PSUs.
what's the best choice.

I have evga nvidia 7800gt card, p5b-e asus mobo
conroe e6300. old sony dvd writer
250 sata II seagate perpenicular recording HD 16mb cache.
and 2 gigs of g.skill memory
I plan to do some small upgrades: another ide seagate 200gb HD and I quess that's it.


how much power do I really need.
and I really want the atmost stable supply for no more than 70$

Are you restricting your choice to Antecs? IMO, they're far from the best PSUs, the only real advantage with Antecs is that they are widely available.

Anyway Antec uses both Channelwell and low-end Seasonic for it's units. The Seasonic built Antecs are the better of the two, which means looking for the NeoHEs, TP Trios and Earthwatts. The Channelwell built units (Smartpower and TPII) use poorer quality Fuhjyyu capacitors, and the Smartpower units are plagued by consistent reports of poor QC.

Quality wise, the NeoHEs are the best of Antecs lineup, however as I've already indicated I feel you can do better from other manufacturers.
 
Look at my setup I have a 500 watt psu and no power problems what so ever, quality over wattage.

If you can afford I would use this. Why would anyone want to supply there highly complicated and sophisticated gaming machine with subpar power?

I believe best buy carries the NeoHe I have, it is pricey there though, almost 150.00.

In a compliant dual rail PSU, 12V2 powers the CPU via the 4pin ATX12V connector while 12V1 powers everything else.

Merged :). I'd take the Enhance I mentioned earlier over a Trio any day, though. If you really want to buy through newegg, my pick would be the XClio Stablepower 500W. Newegg have the NeoHE at $100, but even at that price there are far better PSUs for the money.

that antec neopower500W is out of my budget. but I would have bought it if someone

You know, a company that really makes great PSU is Enermax, I have this model: FMA 535W
Very stable, nice 12V amps (34A) A little pricey though, but once you have it you don't have to worry about your PSU anymore!

enermax and antec are kind of expensive. and their cheaper models
don't have modular cabling. and I really want it.

so if I find at least 450W, modular cabling, active PFC, 18A 12V1, for 70 or less I will grab it
really fast. are there such supplys with price tag 70 or less.

MTBF = Mean Time Between Failure. On average, these units should last for over 100,000 hours at 25C (in practice, the temperature within a PSU will be above 25C, which will reduce the lifespan of the unit)

A 1x120mm (or larger) fan is almost always quieter than 1 or 2 80mm fans.

Not a problem. The XClio Greatpower you mentioned earlier is a good unit. Here's another cheaper one that's also quite sufficient for your system, and a great quality unit as well: Sunbeam Nuuo 550W. Unfortunately the US version doesn't have Active PFC, if that's a huge concern.
