whats the point

ok ive been looking at getting a 7600 gt i have read man yreveiws where peopel have said they are able to play there games on mx settings with smoth frame rates but other people that have 7900 gt say they have amazing graphics wouldnt the graphics be the same on both cards just the frame rates of 790gt would be a litle faster and is it worth getting it im not a bench moarck junkie or anything so some score i get on it doesnt bother me i just would liek to know whats the point of getting it if the frame rates are a litl higher

If you want to be faster in games then frame rates count, the more frames you see the more game you see, an example is in Quake 3, there was only certain jumps you could make with a certain FPS, thats why they made Quake 4 at 60hz, bascially FPS add to your overall speed in gameplay. If someone is going to shoot you at 25FPS then you have less chance of shooting them first then if you were running at 75FPS.

ok thanks alot but they also say the diference between it and the 6800gs are very litle then they say the diference between the 6800gs and the 7900 gt is imense and now u are saying its just a litle more so its like the right inbetween the 6800gs and the 7900 gt and would it be worth anothr 200 to upgrade

Na, just go with the 7600gt, you'll be fine with it. And later, you can upgrade it to a nicer graphics card like when the 8 series comes out. Also, you can buy it for a whole lot cheaper because they'll probably lower the costs of older models.

If you buy the 7600GT now you might be able to play most games on max settings now, but not for long. With the 7900GT, you have the peace of mind that your GPU is going to last a little longer.
