Anyone have any news about the RD890?

What difference if any from the 790FX?

Im planning to get a 790FX mobo but might wait off it the RD890 is gonna kill it?

Your thoughts.

RD890/SB800. The 890 is suppost to give you better overclocking with the 45nm. AM3 processors then the 700 series did.

And the SB800 moves the PCIe support from the northbridge to the southbridge. More USB ports support. Makes the jump to Sata 6Gb/s. All new Southbridge.

They were suppost to be released when the AM3 came out, but the processors got out the door first, the drop to 45nm. went better and faster then AMD thought so the chipset is taking alittle longer.

Any idea on a release? And will the mobo be insanely priced?

Ive been looking everything says Q2 which is what we are in now, surely there must be a actual date somewhere. How long does it usually take for manufacturers to incorporate new chipsets?

Also will it be worth holding off on getting a Asus M4A79T-Deluxe till a RD890 board comes out?
