a good little personal benchmark of how my system is fast i use personally is how many times the little blocks go across the screen while vista is loading, i just wandering how many comeplete runs does you bar do before the computer goes off that screen and continues, if you not sure what screen im on about its this one.

So fast that by the time i even think about pressing the power button for my computer, the computer turns on and off. So quick.
 
This is only a representation really of how well your hardrive is running.

And why would you count? I do other things while my pc powers, like take my boots off, take shirt off, change into pants and the such. lol.

nah its cool, i just thought ppl were rippnig me because of the idea, but i dont know ever since xp had it ive always counted them lol, and have never had a comparison so was just interested, even if it doesnt mean anything, was just interesting to me :D
 
I think the only vista comp that we have in the house (my dad's) gets to 5-7 of those. I'm saying that because the desktop takes a while for it to boot up. Its only on a gig of ram btw.
 
I only reboot when I have to update, and that takes a while because Vista handles updates like snail.

I don't pay attention though from booting off the installer DVD, installing the raid controller drivers, and then rebooting and running the installer DVD from start to finish took about 20 minutes to install vista. Maybe 25, but no more than that.
 
wow they r very quick, how come mines so long mine take 6-7 times across before moving on, i have not much installed, no startup programs apart form logmein, and as you can see my specs arnt shoddy ??
 
Mine goes so quick I actually have a hard time noticing..maybe 1 blip across but then my comp is on the desktop

Mine goes so fast it actually does negative blips, creates a vortex, and travels back in time, so it boots fully into the desktop before I even hit the power button:D

I was gonna say the same thing but I didnt want to make anyone feel inadequate.

Well I did install a flux capacitor on my rig, which helps creating the vortex and the rip in the 4th dimension. The only down side is, sometimes I will just think about turning my computer on and it boots by itself. Haven't quite worked out the whole parallel dimension thing yet.
