When closing my laptop...

I always break the wireless internet connection. Is there any setting that I can use to keep the internet connection intact when I close the laptop and leave for a few hours?? It restores immediately when I open it back up, but for certain functions I would prefer it keep the connection up when I close it.

it might be your computer going into stand by. make sure you have the action of closing the lid set to no action.
 
I expect you have a little sleep switch near the hinges on your notebook.... thats what turn your wireless off as it turns off anything thats not necessary including your wireless
 
on my Gateway laptop, when i closed the lid, it would put it in standby, i had 2 go into the BIOS and change it, maybe thats he has 2 do?
