When do newegg's prices go down?

Hey everyone, i just want to ask when does newegg have cheaper prices, january, december, or feb? I would like to know this so i can buy some parts for a lower price.

They mostly go down when demand for parts goes down. Right now a 8800gt video card is in high demand, but when the market gets flooded with the 8800gt cards the price will go down.

Newegg is in the business of making money, they only lower the prices when they have to, usually to get rid of out of date parts before the new ones come on the market.

So, since the new parts will be coming out in Jan, you can bet the prices of older parts will be lowering at that time.

It's probably around January to February they'll start clearing out the stock. However being a retailer of components they will have a different sales trend to normal PC sales firms like PC World or CompUSA

If your wanting to buy the newest parts out, then probably not. If you are wanting to build a system based on current parts, then yeah it would be worth waiting.

The prices will come down mainly when nvidia comes out with the 9**** series cards and the q6600 when intels lower-end 45nm processors come out.

Actually the companies always have fairly hefty markups on the products. Think the amount they are ordering, bulk discounts which is also known as economies of scale. This means they get a nice bit of wedge off each product.

I wouldn't wait if I was you. It's almost never worth it. You can wait for a long time and the price drop will be minimal.

I guess what really matters is, can you afford the parts right now? If so then buy them, but if you need to save a few bucks by waiting, then do that.
