When is "N" actually "N"?

I have an ISP provider router working it's wireless function in 801.11 g/n mode with automatic channel selection.

I also have a Netgear wn2000rp expansion unit mid way from the router to my kid's computer. The Netgear specs state: "Networking Options: 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n (2.4 GHz only)"

My kid's computer has a PCI network adapter (TP-LINK TL-WN751ND) which claims to be "b/g/n" certified (N, 150Mbps, 2.4Ghz).

How can I be sure that the "N" specification is being use throughout all the chain elements?

Thank you for any replies.

If both ends support n then the result should be N. If you want to check, the link speed on your adapter should tell you. (Properties of the network connection)
