Should I put my photos, movies, songs and software etc, do most people when they reformat just put everything on DVDs?

Yes many people put them on DVDs. However, if you have two hard drives in your computer, you can put your files on the other one, and then format your main one.

Most people use DVD's, CD's, another hard drive, or transfer it across the network to a different PC.

I have an E and C drive but If I reformat my computer because of a virus, shouldnt I reformat both my C and E drive? Because of the virus. Or will just reformatting the C drive be enough?

Also what kind of things do you guys put on the backup discs, of course I will put all my software, what else. I guess movies and photos, can you put everything on the same discs? Is that a good idea.

I also want to get rid of Cd collection, I dotn have much space, is it best to put everything onto the HDD and onto DVDs then post r sell the Cds and cases. I might keep a few discs in a palstic folder.

How do i kill this virus?

reformat then virus scan before putting the stuff back on?

Scan everything thorughly with AVG before putting it on disk

Use a boot virus software disc?

I guess I should also download IE 7 so my MSN automatically uses this safer one.
