When they say 1600Mhz FSB (By OC) what do they mean?

Ok it sounds stupid, and pretty straight forward.

But

When they say 1600Mhz FSB (By OC) what do they mean?

Like if i put a Processor with a 1600 FSB in it, will it work?

FSB support up to 1600
DDR2 up to 1200
And 2x PCI 2.0 (perfect for Crossfire)

Now i need to know, can I put my old CPU in here for the time being till i get my Quad? Its a E6400 Core 2 Duo 2.13Ghz 800FSB
 
what they mean is that if you OC and your FSb reaches somewhere around 1600 it's supported. eg is you took your old chip and OC'ed it and the multiplier makes the FBS lets say 1500 it's still supported i think thats what it means

So i cant put a 1600FSB CPU in there? Im sure i can but im making sure
 
^^ You can, you can. I think they mention OCing only because there ain't (m)any FSB1600 CPUs out there yet...so atm the only practical use for FSB1600 would be OCing.
 
What it's referring to (at least in the case of the ASRock motherboards), is that it natively supports CPU's with a 1333MHz bus speed, however if you use a CPU with a 1600MHz bus speed then it will need to overclock the FSB in order to obtain that 1600MHz bus.
