when using dual monitors, would this decrease fps?

when having dual monitors, when playing a graphical game on one, and a web browser on another. would that decrease my fps while on the game? what about if im not doing anything on the second monitor? should i disconnect the second monitor while playing a game? thanks.

I wouldn't think so. Not enough to matter anyway. I usually have my tv tuner playing something on my second display while playing games

alright good to know, guessing ill have to tab out or play in window mode to be able to access the other monitor while playing a game

Yep, running in windowed mode will work. Tabbing out works but takes longer, and, some games don't support it very well.

I had a lot of lag tabing out of games with 2gb of ram but once I upgraded to 4gb it was a quick switch back to the desktop

^ Same here, most of the times it was easy but sometimes not so much.
