Its all the little square transistors above the CPU socket, looks like theres about 10 of them

It wont hurt anything, it would probably help if your bumping up the CPU voltage up quite abit.

if your getting a decent fan cooler then they normally do a good job of cooling all the surrounding area.
personally im not a fan of those faffy little heatsinks, im sure most people dont put them on very well and end up making the cooling worse.

Alot of people dont put them on right, not using the right adhesive. I have found them laying in the bottom of cases were they fell off.

also if the the thermal connection isnt good then you can get to a situation where you are just creating thermal pockets

Hmmm thanks for the input, they dont seem hot to the touch which is suprising as my VCore is 1.45 V
