Where can I buy or get this soft ware?

I would like to be able to scan a paper and use "shading" to see thins that have been scratched out by my students (tagging). Does anyone know where to get this type of software. I have seen it used before, but I would like to know where to get it.

Do you mean, for example, an exam paper? When you say scratched out, with a pen/pencil?

We have students at our school who are tagging. They will practice their "tags" on a piece of paper, then scribble it out. I am looking for a soft ware that will allow a scanned piece of paper to be analyzed where I can adjust the shading to see what is written on it under the scribbling. I have seen this on TV before. I am wondering where this software can be purchased.

Perhaps photoshop would have this feture.

Hmm, not heard of such software, sounds intersting though - I would imagine this is something photoshop can do though. I'll leave this to someone with more knowledge in that area.

adobe photoshop will do the trick, but you will need to know how to use e.g adjustments....pretty easy really
