Where can I legaly purchase .mp3 music online?

Hey,
anyone know of a website where I can puchase music and download in .mp3 format? and also are websiotes like this: http://www.imp3download.com/ and other websites that allow you to download music throught P2P networks legal?

yeah, again, i need to download in .mp3 format. Napster downloads music in .wma same as most of other popular stores/sites online.
