hello!

after trying to clean up my hard drive, i found out that there was 7GB missing from my C:/ drive. There are no hidden files what so ever.

Do you have any clue about this?

it is 54.5 GB and says it is used 12GB while all the files in my C:/ add up to 5.6GB

All other drives (d, e, f) are fine. Nothing is missing.

Thanks a lot people!

You mean you just select the files on the C: drive and compare it to how much is actually used on the C: drive? There are lots of hidden files and system files which are hidden.

TO OMEGA: Yes, I have also selected the hidden files.
TO THE REST:D : I have other drives where i install things in. For clarification:My C:\ drive said i used 12.1GB while I acutally used 5.6GB (including hidden fies).

And no, i do not have system recovery set up, atleast i don't know. I asked my friend and he said he installed my computer with an unused Dell Disk with a CD-KEY (which is real). Does Dell leave space for system recovery or something?

Sry for not finding this out earlier.

Even when you select hidden files, there are system files which do not show up. Take a look at the screenshots I took on my system under the three different circumstances. Keep in mind that if you have files in your recycle bin, the last shot will be more of a significant difference.
