Where To Buy Nonworking Store Return Computers/Electronics?

Ok, this is a long shot, but I'm hoping someone here might know something about this.

I buy a lot of broken electronics... mostly iPods, but cellphones and computers and other miscellaneous things as well. I fix them and then resell them. Most of what I get comes from eBay, and I get a little from local classifieds as well.

What I've seen on eBay quite often are lots of iPods or other electronics. The descriptions says that these were purchased from some store such as Best buy or whatever... they were items that were returned to the store as defective and replaced. What I want to know is how they were able to purchase these items. If I could get broken returns straight from the store, I could cut out the middle man and maximize my profits. Does anyone know who I would contact to find out about buying returned items?

I believe most stores return broken/return items to the manufacture who repair and resell the items.

At Autozone we send them to our distribution center, and I'm guessing they send them back to the manufacturers.

could always look up computer recycling centers on google.
a lot of those will places will resell stuff that can still be used. could probably get untested/defective stuff as well.

wont be store returns, and a lot of it will be older stuff, but it is possibly nonworking computer and electronics hardware.

lol We destroy our defective returns

Let me guess... Radio Shack? What a silly policy.

As for those saying that defectives are returned to the manufacturer, I'm sure that is right in most cases but I know for a fact that many people buy returns from Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and probably several other big companies. Also it might be a little weird to talk to a manager about something I don't really have any idea where to begin, and I doubt most managers have any idea what happens to the returns.
