where to find some easy methods to make a poster?

I can make a document, and add (copy) pictures that are found on the internet - in order to make a poster.
Are there some easy to use templates or instructions for making posters? (free ones). I have been searching on the internet, but wondered if anyone here has some useful ideas? Thanks

Make sure you use royalty free images if this is for a company or organization.
