Where's best for setting up a free message board?

I would recommend PHPBB, it's a PHP based forum, if you don't know what PHP is you should have someone help you out or go for a different one if you really don't understand it. But it's a very nice choice, very customizable, lots of options.

SMF is sort of like PHPbb, except csomization is easer, you dont even need to know PHP upi just download the mod and upload it in your package manager, i love it.

I'll have to try that one, I'd never heard of it before, been just working on PHP lately, setting up a server and all but gave it up for a while because I couldn't get the member registration done right, blah.
