Im in kind of a sticky situation right now. All of the sudden my computer just stopped recognizing my cd/dvd burner. The drivers are built into windows so I can't reinstall those easily. Any suggestions?

Ok, I tried those methodes and they didnt work. Here is some more detail on my issue. When my computer starts up, it says "Sec Master Drive - ATAPI Incompatible. Press F1 to continue" Windows then starts up and says new hardware found: LI E-O DVDR DW-811S. I know windows should support this device because I had it working for about a year.

Have you changed bios settings recently. Try restoring all the defaults bios settings. ALso make sure all the wires attached good and have not come loose.

usually when you get the error message
"Sec Master Drive - ATAPI Incompatible. Press F1 to continue"
It either a bios issue or a loose cable. If both of these things are correct then there a chance that your cd drive just went bad.
