Where's the north bridge?

Am I blind? This is my motherboard, I am unable to locate the north bridge. In the colored image there is a chip with a heatsink on it which I initially thought was the northbridge, but after looking closer it looks like that is the onboard graphics...?

Please advise

It's where the heatsink is. If a motherboard has onboard graphics, then that is integrated into the northbridge as well.

Nvidia had the northbridge/onboard video and the southbridge intergrated into one chip under a single heatsink.

I don't think it's under one heatsink. Northbridge and Southbridge is seperated. Mainly the NB is in the middle of the mobo with the bigger heatsink because it takes care of the PCI-E lanes and memory (if i remember correctly). Southbridge takes care of the onboard sound and maybe the 3rd PCI-E lane at x8 unless you have the nf200 chip.

Ahh now I see. I just read Nvidia on that chip and was unaware that the onboard video/northbridge were incorporated into one chip.

Thanks for clearing this up guys!

You didnt read what I said did you? Nvidia has made many single chip Northbirdge/southbridge chips. Dont just think something. Look it up.
