which 8600 GT should i get?

I like the EVGA card because of its "step-up program" but I like the XFX because it has a faster core clock. Which one do you think is a better choice? (Does anyone know about how much better the performance of the XFX card is compared to the EVGA card?) I do plan to upgrade in about a year and a half.

Well The step up program only works within 90 days after you buy the card, so i'd say xfx

Oh! I didn't know the step-up program was limited to 90 days... Lol. Does anyone know much of a performance leap i will be getting with the XFX? Should i be expecting a big difference, or will be the difference be so small, its unnoticeable?

From your current integrated graphics it'll be like going from a hatchback to a sports car, the difference between the 2 cards will be small, but it may be noticeable.

Actually i have a new question, i found out that the EVGA card is not HDCP, does that mean i cant watch DVD's at all or just HD stuff like blu-ray.

Hdcp is used for blu-ray. You can watch regular dvd's fine.
