I have installed a fresh XP installation and want to know which antivirus is good for me.ie for home use

Just google em, download & install.

I recomend you go for AVG.

Nod32 is not free.
AVG Free Edition is a decent anti-virus, better then norton. I also like anti-vir too.

Avast worked great for me, but since we had an hacker, we needed a kit. So i got PC-Cillin ,for 40$ can. and it works great!!!! its awsome, and very effecient! But 40$ is money, and if you want free, go with Avast or AVG (recomemnt Avast)

NOD32 uses less resourses (memory and stuff) and detects viruses befor u download them!! also it automaticly downloads the latest virus signature database

i'm usin it at the mo... no viruses yet!!

I have gone through many AV software packages, but my most favorite is Avast!. I would however recommend you to try the others first so that you chose the one that suits you best.

For a paid one, Panda is the way to go (if you have more than 512MB RAM).

For a free one, it seems from my trials with them that Avast! is the best of the bunch.
