hey, ive currently got norton antivirus on my pc but it isnt a long term subscription and its probably only got about a month left. i need to get a new one so i was wondering which av software is the best? should i stick with norton or go with something else?

thanks

Yep. Nod32 is good. Norton is okay, just I find slows system down and its not free.
Spoke to a Symantec rep other day, he said that the new norton - norton 360 is meant to be the fast antivirus against its compettiors...im still not sure though

Not always....find sometimes the free ones remove than the retail ones. Good to havea mixture and run independantly.

avast free will keep your system secure from viruses.

i have Avast pro and its great.

you mean they remove MORE? did you mean to fit that word in there?

do the free AVs use less resources than one like norton, mcafee etc?

i think its probably good to have a couple of AVs working, i mean if the free ones dont actually use much of the comps resources they would work well as a back-up, kinda like for catching something if the other AV doesnt notice it. to be honest im a bit apprehensive to rely on something that has been released for free. i mean if i was asked to do something for money and then for nothing id probably put more effort into it if i knew i was going to get something back. not very charitable i know but what the hey. you understand what im saying though? my computers very important, as it probably is to most of you, and i dont want to risk it getting ****ed.
