which brand of 5870?

so its between the sapphire one with vapor-x cooling (awesome) or the xfx XXX edition with the double lifetime warranty. I like sapphire better and thats what I think I would get but any other opinions?

I like XFX. the XXX edition runs a little hotter than the regular XFX card though.

i would go for the xfx one. great brand, very reliable, great overclocking, and double lifetime warranty. why are you going for the xxx edition? just overclock it on your own. is the cooling different on that one?

I have an Asus. Their quality is always top notch, seriously. Not only that, but all their cards 5xxx series (that I know of) have the voltage tweak. So, you can overclock without breaking the warrenty.

If you read reviews, you never see DOA or stopped working after a while. They last and perform well.

XFX for the warranty, if you want better cooling just pickup an aftermarket cooler for the card, XFX doesnt void your warranty for aftermarket coolers(just physical damage, which just means make sure you have the original cooler on hand in order to RMA or whatever if need me).

In my opinion a lot depends on what you want, reference or non-reference. Then what features are important. Price, warranty, voltage control, etc.

It seems to me that the double lifetime warranty of XFX is hard to beat, I do love ASUS for their very good customer service and their 3 year warranty.
