The 9600 sounds better to me but Id rather ask people who actually know.

I personally would pick a 8800GT 512mb because they are slightly better then the 9600gt for the same price. Plus they have been out longer, so the drivers are more dependable.

Yes i totally agree - the 9 series haven't been as good as the 8 series.

No it isn't. The 9600 GT is $50 cheaper.
