which card?

Im debating between 2 video cards for around the same price, tell me which one would be better. (Main use for the card is for gaming):

Nvidia GeForce 6600, 256MB DDR, 128-Bit, AGP 8x,
Core speed-300Mhz, Memory speed-500Mhz. $149

or

ATI Radeon 9600XT, 256MB DDR, 128-Bit, AGP 8x,
Core speed-500Mhz, Memory speed-600Mhz. $145

I know the Nvidia is a newer model, but the core speed and memory speed is better on the ATI, so if you were to chose between those 2 cards, what would you get?

I'd say the 6600 would beat the 9600XT hands down. The 6600 has 8 pixel pipes where the 9600XT has 4 (this may be moddable though)

those clock speeds on the nvidia are almost similar to what i have now. I heard from someoen that the 9600XT would be much better. And its the 6800, not 6800GT or 6800Ultra.

my guess would proberly be what everyone said and be the 6600 but am not 100% certain on this.

Personally if you into gaming I would spend a extra $35 if you can afford it and get a 6600GT(http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-140-048&depa=1 ) whch I assure you is much better then the 9600XT and 6600.
