Which CMS?

so my dad wants a website... and using a cms would be the best way to do it because thats teh kinda format he wants.

i used joomla! but it wasnt quite right, although it looked very nice.

what else is there that you would recommend? it needs to look good, thats teh main thing hahaha

i am about to try Mambo...

any suggestions?

Joomla is pretty good. Mambo is pretty much Joomla. The team who develop Joomla were all former Mambo employees and most of the code is the same or based on it.
 
nah joomla was quite easy to use for me... it just wasnt quite right. i think mambo is perfect.

I've made a website using Joomla and added components to it like time/calendar etc etc and that was a breeze.
Mambo is a bit wack if you ask me, try Joomla version 1.0.15
and if you want to add downloads to it, add Remository version 3.44.1.
Thats what i did for the website i made

i bumped when using 1.5, i couldn't sort out some matters, in my view, chances are more plugins and modules will work with 1.0, without problems.
but anyways you can always try it locally on your pc !!
