Which computer should win?

thats the problem it loses.

signature computer: 38 fps

other computer: 50 fps

This computers doin my head in. Its really gd at everything, but graphics.

Not a good question though tbh,Obviusly a Quad with 8gb of ram AND 2 gts in SLI is going to kill a Dual core with 2gb ram and a single gpu.
 
Maybe there's an issue with your SLI drivers, as suggested in the other thread
where you mentioned this issue.
 
lol ive only just put the raid in and it the same now as it was b4. I think it might be a motherboard problem.
 
Hmm i dunno,Maybe run Memtest and make sure your ram is healthy?

Run hard drive diagnostics to make sure they are healthy too?
 
have you run 3dmark06? maybe then you see a difference. and what game are you using to bench? Did you make sure that the setting in the games are the same, including resoluiton?
 
ehhh, yeah, but he should double check that resolution isn't messed up on the one.

Other than that, I'm thinking dead RAM is in there, or even a dead video card. And he said when he took out the one card, fps got BETTER?????? That's just messed up. Are you sure you go everything set up for SLi correctly?!?!
 
GTA4 is terribly coded, it may be an issue with it and SLI or quad core or 8GB of RAM or anything in the main system that isn't in the other.

Try a different game and check the fps, compatability issues dont always have to be "it doesn't work at all", it can be "it doesn't work as well as it should" too. Just a thought :)
 
I have just tried swapping the cards over, which did not help. (neither r using sli at mo)

I very recently used memtest, 1 nite 4 several hours, no errors.
I also tried stressing all the cpu's (at same time) for hours aswell, with no errors.

O in 3dmark06 my sig computer destroys the other, but it always worse in games e.g. Stalker clear sky, GTA4, fallout 3.

This is the problems everything seem to be working fine, but somewhere something is defernatly wrong. (ive tried different OS's, patches, drivers, which make no differance)

All the components i have all work 2 spec, 4 sure, this has been a long running problem. The only thing i cant test in another computer is the motherboard.

ive done another 3dmark05 and this time the sig computer with just the 1 gpu. My sig computer got 19467 and the other


Cpu: E8400
Ram: 2 GB Hyperx
Mobo: P5KPL-AM SE (http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_I...specifications)
GPU: 8800GT
HDD: Western Digital sata 500GB
PSU: NOX 600w

So it was winnig b4 because of the sli, but its worse wen they both have just the 1 same card.
