my family recently received 2 laptops from my dad's work, because they are free they aren't very powerful. Anyways my brother and I are each recieving a laptop, I get to choose which computer i want, because i put the operating systems on both of them. Please vote in the poll to help me decide, my decision will most likely be based on what you tell me. Right Now I am Swaying Toward #1
Thanks
Stats:
Computer 1: 487 Mhz CPU,11 GB Hard Drive, 16 MB Nvidia, video Memory, 256 RAM, Wirless Internet Already Installed.
Computer 2: 657 Mhz CPU, 9 GB Hard Drive, 8 MB Nvidia Video Memory, 128 RAM.

Thank-You For Your Input(BTW This is my first post :D)

I would choose computer 1 because it has overal better performace despite the CPU. What is the manufactour on both of them?

1st one has more RAM and that's what you need
i have laptop which has a P4 processor and 128 RAM and the performance sucks
screw the higher VGA 16 mb wont do anything anyway
you need RAM
so 1st one

lol, the 1st one has higher RAM and vRAM so... you thought 2nd one had 16MB of VRAM

Ya the first one, overall it's better than 2nd laptop, more space, more RAM and more VRAM, you even have an installed wireless internet, lol :)

if you just want to do basic stuff (which you should, cause you ain't getting anything spectacular out of those laptops), the ram imakes a big difference.

oops, nevermind, i thought they both had 256MB RAM, then yeah the 1st 1 :), you should get your bro 2 put a 128MB stick in computer 2, 2 make 256MB.

Personaly I would take the first one because of the RAM and Wireless Internet (The bigger hard drive is nice too). Then overclock it to the speed of the 2nd one.

overclock it ?
i tried to search for any overclocking stuff in the BIOS of the laptop i had and i couldn't find any (it's Itronix i think or something like this) i had it for a few while though and it's gone now.
so i thought laptops are not overclockable
