my parents need a new computer. i have narrowed it down to two. Should they get the Dell or the HP. i have heard bad things about dell recently and also i have heard good things about HP. I want to know what you guys think is the better option in terms of quality, customer service and your overall opinion of the brand. here are the specs.

What do your parents plan on doing with this machine?

It has been a while but I have had really good luck with Dells. But it has been several years since I bought a Dell.

i would get the HP with the i5 2500,its way faster than the x6.the graphics on the dell is better but not by much, you can upgrade the graphics on the HP to the 5450 for $50 more. if they play games which i dout, so ill say the HP is your best bet.

They will mainly be using the system for normal stuff. Internet, email, tax stuff, word processing, editing pics and uploading them, etc. i too was leaning more towards the HP. And i know the HP is probably more than they need, but my dad insists on having a 7-800$ computer. Thanks for all of the help.
