Which configuration?

I recently built a new system that has a 680i mb with C2Q 2.4 processor overclocked to 3.0, 2 gb ram, and as of right now, a GeForce 8600 GT by XFX.

I'm not as impressed as I'd like to be with the XFX card. Games that are run on higher settings are jumpy, and not as crisp as I'd like. I'm thinking about buying another XFX 8600 to have dual cards, but I'm not sure if I'd be better off just getting a better single card. I just don't know much about video cards and would like someone to recommend one. Or would I be better off just going dual?

Thanks.

edit : Also, does the 680i EVGA mb have pci-e 2.0 slots? or is it just pci-e ? Thanks

You'd probably be better off just getting another card, how much are you willing to spend?
And the 680i has PCI-E, not PCI-E 2.0.

Okay. the card I have now I bought for 90. I could spend up to 150 or so on a new card, I plan on finding one on tiger direct.

Are PCI-E 2.0 cards compatible with regular PCI-E? I'm having a hard time finding anything just PCI-E.

Okay, so I can find a PCI-E 2.0 card as well. I'd prefer an nVidia card over an ATI card however, I'm just more familiar with them. Any suggestions for one?
Thanks

if you can get together another 100 dollars, you can get an 8800 ultra for $250 from tigerdirect, otherwise i think the 8800gts might run in the 150 dollar range
