okay after re-applying my thermal compund on my cpu im still not happy with my temps.

what type of cooler do you think is most effective?
Forget what make it is,i just want to know what you thinks most efective at getting rid of heat.

(1)This one which Intel have as their standard coolers with the fan on the top

OR

(2)this one which has the fan on the side?

thanks

I have the standard one with AMD and it has a heatsink and a fan on it... i would say one of those with a decent fan.

I'm thinking the second because it will go with your airflow, however the first one uses the little tunnel on the side of your case so I don't know....

Yeah it depends on what airflow you have coming into the case....

In my case i have a funnel over where the CPU fan is and the fan pulls the air from outside the case via this funnel

so you think the first one with the fan mounted on top is better that one with the fan on the side?

ive noticed today that most new CPU heatsinks have their fans now on the side like the artic freezer 7 pro.

well i have a huge jet turbine on the front of my case taking in air,i also have a fan on the side of my case and a 120mm exhaust fan on the back, the case has good airflow its just my cpu temps that suffer.

i have both those coolers posted above so i could switch to which one i wanted to use,i also have a funnel to put on the side of the case for the cpu but i had to take it off to use the AC7 pro because its tall.

Tower heatsinks are more affective as they blow the hot air right out of the case as opposed to the top-down cooler, which blows the air out and in all directions.

But my case has great airflow because i have a jet turbine fan as they call it on the front and it takes quite alot of air in and it goes straight out the back of my case.

AHH!!!!! im so confused.....should i take out the AC7 and put the Akasa in

i know everyone will say leave the AC7 in because its a wekll known brand and looks good but at the end of the day its not doing its job very well. :(

That's the whole point, the AC7 blows the hot air towards the back of the case, which is then sucked out by the back fan. The top-down heatsink blows the air out on all directions, which is less efficient than the tower heatsinks.

Hey didyouknowthat just wondering, are you running your Scythe Ninja fanless? Cause you like your comp silent right?
