Which CPU fan do you recommend for me ?

Hello everyone. I'm Andy from Montreal, Canada. First time here. Pocked around and I like what I see. Nice forum guys.

I need help with this issue. I am presenty running a P4 2.4 Celeron CPU with a masscool fan. I find it a little noisey.

I have an extra 3.06 HT CPU collecting dust. Since I am looking to change my CPU fan because of the noise issue I might as well replace my 2.4C with my 3.06 HT CPU. So far so good in my thinking, right ?

Now my issue is what CPU FAN do I buy for my 3.06 CPU ? I am not very smart so any help with this dilemma would be appreciated.

Ahh...

Try the stock fan but clean it up and get new Thermal Paste (Arctic Silver 5)

you meant a P4 - or just a celeron, they are not the same !! you can either have a celeron or a P4, not a P4 celeron

well a celeron is basically a p4 anyways, just no cache to speak of, so its safe to say he has a celeron

Compare the P4 2.4 VS Celeron 2.4

Pentium would win

hence when i said 'no cache to speak of' thats basically the largest thing that allows processors of equal architectures and clock speeds to beat one-another

Cache? That's the main thing about speed? I could have an Pentium 4 with 12Mb cache and it wouldn't beat an Q6600... everything about it matters. Stepping, CACHE, speed, socket type, FSB, and core architecture.
