Which CPU Heatsink/Fan for my A64 3500+?

I'm currently using a stock AMD cooler for my CPU (see sig). I want to get a new one, one that will be efficient in cooling when the load is heavy. What would you suggest for my setup (see sig)? My budget is about $30.

Why not wait a bit until you upgrade, then get a better processor as well. You can get an X2 now for around $85.

You know I don't have the money right now to upgrade, cause it would cost a lot for a worthwile upgrade. If I did upgrade, it would be to a Core 2 Duo, not an A64 X2.

The stock cooler is fine. You don't really need a better one.

I forgot to mention that I overclock. The stock cooler isn't very good for me, and even at stock speeds it does a bad job of cooling the processor when there is a heavy load on it. I think I have narrowed my choice down to 3 different coolers shown here:

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro - $26.24 shipped

Thermaltake A1 - $38.55 shipped

Thermaltake A2 - $38.05 shipped

I'd take the Arctic Cooling Freezer. It is cheaper, as well as being a proven design.

Which is why I think its not worth spending more money on a new cooler :)

At least until you pay me the $40 :P

I have actually owned a AC Freezer 64 Pro before, but it became damaged. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's very heavy and puts stress on the motherboard.

I wouldn't buy this until I paid you back Geoff.

I love my AC Freezer 64 Pro. It keeps my athlon 64 4000+ at a nice 33 idle and havnt broken 44 on full load and I run it at 2.97 GHz. Of course your going to want some Arctic Silver 5 instead of the pad it comes with

I likes my AC Freezer 7 Pro as well, but as you said, it is really heavy and it put alot of stress on the motherboard.
