Which cpu is a better buy?

AMD 64 FX - 53
AMD 5000+ X2

Price aside... which CPU will perform better for gaming and basic computer crap... word, watching videos, load time when surfing the internet/My Computer?
 
wait for conroe

but if you absolutely have to have a top line amd chip that will get it's ass whipped by a mid-level conroe chip- go for the 5000+

Wait...? What? Really? I love my AMD that's why I wanted to stay with AMD but not if Conroe will really walk all over it. Anyone have a price sheet for the Conroes?

The X2 5000+ would be better in all tasks. The only advantage it has is an unlocked multiplier.

But what about the Conroe statement that guy made? Is that for real? With a mid-class Conroe really destroy the 5000+ X2?
 
But isn't the E6700 their top dog Processor?

It seems to be a good comparison to the FX-62 even though it seems the Conroe has a slight advantage (In this benchmark).

But what mid class Conroe would totally outclass the AMD 5000+ X2? What would a mid class Conroe cost?

EDIT: It's not their top dog Processor
