Which CPU is better in your opinion???

I can't find too much on that Intel, but I would guess it would be the fastest. They usally aren't that much slower than the Athlons, so comparing it to AMD's budget processor is a bit mis-matched... But again, I don't know too much about intels or that particular model...
 
im not too familiar with the pentium brands except for the dual core but im looking for pentium 4 not 3 (not to be rude or any thing)

Yes, the Sempron is better for gaming. But he never said he was buying the processor for gaming. And it the Sempron only beat the P4 in Farcry.

Get the P4.

Just to clear everything up, the Sempron would beat the P4 specified basically across the board in all games. I just linked to a farcry bench.

However, I agree that the P4 is more powerful overall. If you were to do much of anything besides game, the P4 would be the cpu to get as they are fairly close gaming wise, and the P4 would have a clear edge in a lot of other uses.
 
I would think the the P4 would out perform the sempron, like The Other One said, it is a bit of a mismatch
 
As bob said, he never said this was just for gaming. And to answer his question "Which CPU is better in your opinion???" The Pentium 4 deffinetly takes home the prize.

Just to point out it is not 3.06 gig or 2.00 gig it is ghz as in referring to speed not in memory space.
 
Wow, a lot of people up in arms in this thread. Just thought I would include some info and put in my .02 on the subject, kind of a FYI sort of deal.

True, the OP never said he was using the computer just for gaming, but he also didn't say he WASN'T using it to game either. Thought maybe what I had to contribute might be somewhat relevant.

The Pentium 4 outperforms the Sempron in the following game related tests:
3DMark05 CPU Test, 3DMark05 Graphics Test, and Doom 3.

Now it is true that the Sempron will be better in the majority of games, however it falls behind drastically in every other aspect.
 
ok thats all the info i need becouse i am building a gaming computer and i have to choose between these 2 procesors. so correct if im wrong but sempron will beat the p4 in gaming am i correct?
